The sky was going off in the Bay Area tonight. I almost missed it.
Got a package in the mail from the EAA today telling me I am a registered flight leader for the young eagles program. They want me to take 10 kids on their first flights over the next year. I get to give each kid a log book, certificate of completion and a voucher for free ground training. For those of you that don’t know about the young eagles program, it gives kids and teenagers the opportunity to take a free flight in a general aviation aircraft. During my flights, I allow the kids to take the controls (with me) and get a feel for flying an airplane. Its really a great experience. If you know anybody that is interested in aviation and is between the ages of 8-17, contact the EAA (experimental aircraft association) and ask about the young eagles program. If you are in the bay area, drop me a line and I will get you set in the right direction.
I just really love this guy’s blog
